Beata PSZCZÓŁKOWSKA-KĘPA

PhD, Medical Physics

She received her MSc (with distinction) and PhD in Medical Physics from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw.

Her doctoral research focused on investigating the influence of exosomes on the radiosensitivity of prostate cancer cells and determining whether the radiation-induced bystander effect (RIBE) can be activated in recipient cells via exosomes isolated from irradiated cells.

Her work was conducted in scientific cooperation with the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM), contributing to a better understanding of radiosensitivity modulation and highlighting the potential application of exosomes in the optimization of radiotherapy.

Ongoing projects:

Science is more than a body of knowledge. It is a way of thinking; a
way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding
of human fallibility.
