2018-03-22Starlab, a private R&D company based in Barcelona (Spain) and Oxford (UK), is looking for an exceptional data scientist with a very hands-on attitude to join our neuroscience team. The successful candidate will work at the forefront of neuroscience research with a focus on real-world applications in close contact with our sister company Neuroelectrics, a world leader in wireless neurotechnology for monitoring and stimulation.
We believe we are driving a revolution in how we measure and modulate the activity of our electrical brains, which will have a massive impact on health, wellness, human computer interaction and society.

- Consciousness
- Closed-loop neurostimulation
- Brain-to-brain communication
- Biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases
- Affective computing with applications in business and culture
- Personalized treatments
What we are looking for:
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of machine learning technology and methods (including deep learning approaches)
- Experience in signal processing, ideally physiological
- Matlab & Python are our most common programming languages
- Very hands-on approach and able to hit the ground running
- A desire to see the results of your research have an impact in the realworld (this means getting out of the lab)
- Ability to handle projects with a “multi-scale” approach, able to maintain ahigh- level view while paying attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
